Embracing Health Research and Strengthening Community Connections

The Matariki Rangahau Series (MRS) 2024 is coming to Pōneke. Join us for a day dedicated to advancing health research and fostering community connections. Rooted in the values of Mātauranga Māori and kaupapa Māori, the MRS is committed to uplifting Māori and Pacific researchers, promoting collaboration, and supporting the wellbeing of our communities.

The theme for this hui is "Mana Wahine," celebrating the strength and leadership of women in health research.

Keynote Speaker - Linda Burhansstipanov

We are honoured to welcome Linda Burhansstipanov as our keynote speaker. Renowned for her extensive work in cancer control among Native American communities, Linda brings valuable insights into community-based participatory research and health disparities.

Presentation by Liza Edmonds: "Mortality Review: Preventing people passing away before their time & opportunities to thrive."

Presentation by Lara Andrews: "Te Hau Kori: Physical Activity and Wellbeing."

Presentation by Kendall Stevenson: Te Ara Waiora- qualitative findings.

Presentation by Katie McMenamin: "Needs of Whanganui Transgender & Gender Diverse Adults, Youth, Children, & Parents of Transgender Children Within Primary Healthcare Services: A 2024 Sector Analysis."
