He Puāwaitanga wananga series (ĀKI Innovations)

Introducing ĀKI delivered cancer support wananga series 'He Puāwaitanga', weaving ahurea Māori, healthy lifestyle, and rehabilitation together over a weekend wananga. The overall aim is to enhance oranga and hauora for wāhine Māori diagnosed with any type of cancer.

We aim to utilise maramataka and te whare tapa whā to form the programme foundation, and draw on best practice within cancer and lymphoedema management utilising Bio-impedance technology. This technology assists with early diagnosis of chronic conditions such as lymphoedema, cardiac health and obesity.

Other topics we’ll cover include relationships and intimacy, rongoā, fears, and the importance of breath work. We have finalised dates for He Pūāwaitanga, and are looking to commence in Kirikiriroa, Hamilton on the weekend 6/7th July.

We encourage wāhine that have been diagnosed with any type of cancer to register your interest. If are not able to attend this date we will place you on a contact list for future wananga in this series.
