About Hei Āhuru Mōwai: Hei Āhuru Mōwai is a kaupapa Māori cancer leadership organisation dedicated to supporting Aotearoa’s cancer policy decision-makers. We are on a mission to reduce cancer’s impact on Māori, ensuring equitable, culturally safe care for all. Our work is driven by a deep commitment to improving health outcomes and delivering high-quality cancer care.
The Role:
As our Clinical Nurse Lead, you will lead the charge in delivering excellence in cancer care coordination services. Working alongside hauora Māori providers, you’ll help improve outcomes for whānau, providing leadership and support for our teams of cancer care coordinators and navigators. Your role will focus on embedding equity and cultural safety in every aspect of service delivery, driving continuous improvement and ensuring optimal care for all patients.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the delivery of high-quality cancer care coordination services, ensuring the best outcomes for patients and whānau.
· Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to clinical teams, promoting a collaborative, patient-centred approach.
· Champion equity and actively work to reduce health disparities, with a particular focus on Māori communities.
· Ensure cultural safety is at the core of all clinical work and service delivery.
· Collaborate with external partners to provide integrated, holistic cancer care.
· Monitor service performance, driving innovation and improvements where necessary
About You:
Experience: You are a registered nurse with extensive experience in clinical cancer care and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by patients and whānau.
· Leadership: You have a proven ability to inspire and empower teams, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
· Commitment to Equity: You are passionate about reducing health inequities and making a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
· Cultural Competence: You understand and respect Māori culture, ensuring cultural safety is embedded in all aspects of care.
· Team Player: You thrive in a collaborative, inclusive environment and are committed to empowering those around you.
